Soul Mate: A Poem By Fortune Emudia

Soul Mate

A Poem By Fortune Emudia

Was it just a fiction?

An expression of someone's thought never experienced.

It has always felt true, listening to talks on soulmate.

Now I wonder where they found theirs.

My heart beat as I search for my soulmate.

A journey I thought would end quickly now seem endless.

Every morning comes to tell me "keep dreaming".

Now I hate myself.

The void of your absence, I replaced with deceit.

A conviction I gave to myself just to help me ease off the pain that I can't find you.

The books I read are now hated.

This story is what I will never speak of.

I cry as I see my soul in pain.

The pain that it has no mate to journey with on Earth.

Pity says the voice that sees me.

Long lasting yearning and heartache.

The sweetness of my life ceased.

Now that I realized there is no soulmate.

Just in the dark with this reality.

But came love to teach me his ways.

The confusion now cleared,

That all I need to find my soulmate has ever being love.

So I am lightened and hopeful again.

Just as I set out to love and meet my soulmate.
