Queen Mother: A Poem By Fortune Emudia
Queen Mother
A Poem By Fortune Emudia
A child can tell little of the gate that brought her to this world.
Only until she is old and ready to bear.
Her thoughts couldn't have grasp the pain that comes with child bearing.
She only saw her mother in her happy moment.
Didn't know she had a sad moment.
The story she knew now have a new twist.
The life she saw ahead now have a new path.
The glory she wished for now comes with a new pain.
Hers is the path of a mother.
Her first was not easy.
She beckoned on her husband for strength.
She could see the success surfacing.
But wished it never includes this pain.
Only her mother understand best her tears.
The pool on her eyes had no salt at this point.
Her relief came quick and sudden.
She rejoice as she sees her child.
The reason for her travail now alive.
Now her fear is what future holds for her child.
She sees her continuity in the child.
Her love now seen at it's peak.
Now she tells a new story.
A kind of story only Love knew.
The tale of her motherhood fully expressed.
As she is now a Queen and a mother.
Our mothers.
