POETRY: AN ARTIST OF WORDS

I'm an artist of words,

So I'll paint you a picture of what I do.

Well, not literally.

But you know that already.

From the edge of my mind to the tip of my pen, I guide my art.

And with splashes of colour, I tell a story.

I won't make a riot of colours, I promise.

This I'm sure of because my ink is black.

My mind is the palette and my ink, the brush,

So find me a canvas and I'll make you an art.

I appeal to your imagination with word-craft,

And to your emotion with aesthetic lines.

I'm an artist of ink and paper, black and white.

Yet I'll give you a colourful day,

With a vintage view through my mind's eye.

I'm a poet, an artist of words.
