Knowing: A Poem By Nhick

KNOWING

A Poem By Nhick

I know I'm not 6ft tall.
But I won't come short of me loving you.
Every alphabet in your name is a poem to me.
I do say you daily.
And sometimes,
I'm out here thinking how to compose a poem for a poet like you.

I know how your lips move when
You did smile.
You end a smile.
With the way your light skin strikes me in every conversation.
Your beauty has a lip that do the talking.
For complexion is too complex to describe you.

And I think about you when
I wake.
Am awake.
I dream of me thinking about you.
I think about me dreaming of you.
Something adjectives can't explain.

I know how good cook you are.
Your eyes are the recipe to cook my heart.
Calling your name before eating is a grace.

I know you don't lie.
Your make-up can tell how Christian you are.
And I can tell how you get things figured out with your figure 8.

I know everything about you.
But not heartbreak.
Until I fell for you.
A scary fall.
And you taught me.
I guess you know more than I do.
