Letter From 2019 By The Writers Mind

Poetry - (Reflective) Letter from 2019.

When I first heard about you, 2020, I only but could dream about your time.
Great things was said about you but never was a great pandemic mentioned.
We saw the light in your rising but never could have imagined this darkness.
It has become an episode we wish could fade more quickly.

Our mama are tired.
No longer able to till the land in peace for fear of being contaminated.
The little children only see the roof of our home, for the reason that they can't leave the house.
Our papa now made jobless, confined to the room where they sleep.
All because we came to 2020.

We wish we could go back.
Go back to the year when there was not a pandemic.
A section of our lives have being put on hold.
And now we only can wish we never came to 2020.
