ARROGANCE OF DESTINY

EPISODE 13 UDO PROVINCE OF BINI KINGDOM C. 1521

"Mother, i want to shout so people would gather. We were outside when the spirits cooked and ate," Arhuan cried, carrying the corpse of his son along plodding through the bushes.

A night before, he was outside for the breeze when they came to call him that his last son, Kpamabira, was dead.

"You all have seen this one I'm in now. It is people's prayer that the child that will do for them should not go in front of them to the spirit world."

The night was well mooned; the shafts of orange lights slant and touch ground, through the betweens of trees.
The insects were all living. The wind were chilly. The shadows were  bending.

He had been walking for six hours, carrying his son. There was no leaf that had not touched him. He had talked for him, then he had not talk for him. He had cried for him, he had cried for himself.

He would come back from hunting and ask the gaurds to get him three kegs of water to drink, but the boy would hurry out with a tiny cup of water to welcome him.

So small and innocent. "Baba, I am seeing Esohe's house from here," the boy would say when Arhuan would sit him on his shoulders. Life is a mixing together of pains from gaining and losing.

"Who has done this to me? A child that don't rile or trick nobody." He remembered how he would lay on the floor and the boy and his elder brother would be playing on his enormous body.

"My child, sleep with those that went before you. This world is a coming darkness after a current darkness. It is somone's name that say if one dies, worries are finished. There's nothing worst that can happen to you now. And when you come back again, it will be in prosperity."

He got to a place he became tired; he dropped the corpse, in a corner. He began digging with his bare hands.
